I have been on the look for a good shampoo and conditioner that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and also doesn't strip the colour from my hair. This shampoo and conditioner are sulphate free, no harsh salts, made with natural botanicals, UV Filters and are designed to reduce colour fading! Plus the scent, Rosemary Juniper is delish!
I will let you know how they work!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator
I also picked this mascara up... I am going to test it out after the Maybelline one. It says it will make your lashes appear 117% longer in 30 days and 80% longer instantly... We shall see!
Maybelline Volum'Express ONE by ONE Mascara
I just purchased this mascara today and I will be testing it out and letting you know my thoughts on it! Have any of you tried this mascara yet?

UPDATE:
So, I have tried this mascara a few times and I am NOT liking it at all! It burns my delicate eyesand makes the skin around my eyelashes red :( I am looking for my receipt so I can return it, if not, I will contact Maybelline and see what they can do for me.
Aside from that, here is my review on it...
The brush is nice and soft and only picks up a little bit of product. I was worried it would be goopy, but that's not the case. That is where the good news ends... It really doesnt do much for my lashes, it doesnt give them volume or much length. I found it actually just emphasized how thin my lashes are! Not what I want from a mascara...

Spa Rituals Nail Lacquer
Spa Rituals nail lacquers are vegan, free of DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, and Formaldehyde resins! I love the fact that they are nice to humans and animals :)
Let’s start with the bottle and cap...
The bottle is made in Italy from recycled glass and the cap is a rubbery material that is easy to grip and makes opening the bottle really easy!
The brush...
The brush is on the smaller/thinner side, but it fans out nicely, so it is easy to apply the polish!
The formula...
The polish itself applies SO easily! It is smooth and creamy. No lines, streaks, or clumps! I usually have to clean up quite a bit after applying polish, but I had no mess around my nails at all!
The SpaRitual Story
Dedicated to the spa tradition, SpaRitual is committed to creating eco-friendly products and packaging perfectly crafted for the enlightened consumer. We use Vegan ingredients from around the world, including many specially sourced and selected plant essences that are wild crafted OR organic. KQC Flat Iron
KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron
I was sent this flat iron from the wonderful people at www.flatironexperts.com for my review! I have been using this flat iron for a few weeks and I love it!
Before I begin my review I want to remind everyone that in no way, shape or form will my review be swayed or changed or influenced just because I did not purchase these items. I know that I want honest reviews from the blogs I read and videos I watch, I would never want to be lied to. So I promise you I will never give false reviews! Okay with that out of the way... Here is my review!
Here are some of my favourite things about the flat iron:
- It has a temperature dial that reaches 410F. It is always important to look for a flat iron with a temperature dial; it doesn’t always have to be at the hottest setting!
- It heats up really quickly and stays hot! Some flat irons can take forever to get to their max heat but this took only seconds!
- The plates fit together really well so it has a firm grip on your hair as you are straightening it. So many flat irons are too loose or the rip your hair out because they don’t line up properly.
- The handle portion of the flat iron is also quite sleek; it fit in my hand easily and comfortably.
Here are a few things taken directly from the website about this flat iron:
Tourmaline / Ceramic Technology: KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Ceramic Hair Straightener's distributes heat across the entire surface evenly, retains heat more efficiently, and eliminates damaging hot spots. Ceramic emits a natural source of negative ions and far infrared heat that helps your hair
1. Preserve more moisture within the hair shaft
2. Eliminates frizz and close the cuticle to create smooth and shiny hair
3. Causes less damage to the hair cuticle during styling
Negative Ion Technology: Negative ions are atoms that can stop the growth of bacteria, fungi, etc., resulting in healthier hair and scalp. Negative ion energy is powerful enough to break apart clusters of water molecules. The smaller water molecules penetrate into the hair shaft by slipping between the cuticles, adding plumpness/volume to hair. The bombardment of negative ions also closes the hair cuticle, which is very good for the health and appearance of the hair.
Far Infrared Heat: Far Infrared (FIR) rays are electro-magnetic waves of energy, totally invisible to the naked eye, capable of penetrating deep into the human body, including the hair shaft. It therefore dries the hair from the inside out. The result is that more moisture remains in the hair shaft and there is less damage to the hair.
My hair is naturally straight but I prefer my hair to be REALLY straight, so I use a flat iron every time I wear my hair down. For the purpose of this review I flat ironed my friend Nancy’s hair as it better represented the strength and ability of this flat iron! Nancy has thick curly hair and it has a lot of volume. Here are some pictures of her hair, before and after I flat ironed it!
Before:
After:
Look at the difference! Nancy's hair is sleek, shiny, and STRAIGHT! As you can see this flat iron is quite capable of straightening Nancy’s thick curly hair and it also does an amazing job of straightening my hair on a day to day basis! If you are looking for a new flat iron, look no further! This is a great flat iron and I am positive you will be pleased with it!

Joe Fresh Nail Polish
I love nail polish and you know what I love even MORE? Great nail polish that is CHEAP! Joe Fresh has a nail polish line and they are 3 for $10 ... you can’t go wrong with that! I picked up Mint, Coral, and Faded Violet and I absolutely love them! The formula is actually really good and it is really easy to apply. The first coat is a little scary but once you apply coat #2, you are golden. The colour selection is pretty good and you just cannot beat the price. They are also the perfect size; I find the larger bottles dry up before I get anywhere near using it all up. Each polish holds 6 ml in it, like I said... perfect size :) I highly recommend these polishes; let me know if you try them! :)

Clinique Airbrush Concealer
I have been in search of the perfect under eye concealer for a long, long time. Most were too cakey, not the right colour or consistency, or they just made things look worse! Well, look no further, the Clinique Airbrush Concealer is here to save the day...
I love the applicator; it is soft and applies the product well. Assuming you keep your skin clean prior to each application, you should be good to go with applying it straight from the applicator. It is a creamy, dreamy, lightweight formula that glides on the eye area and immediately hides any unwanted spots, lines or wrinkles. It also illuminates the area without being shimmery or too bright; it manages to revive area that is so delicate and sensitive to our age, stress levels, and lack of sleep.
I highly recommend this product and it is one that I will continue to repurchase!

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
This product is absolutely GENIOUS! At first I was a little resistant because I thought, “why waste money on bottom lash mascara, it can’t be THAT great...” well, I was wrong. This product is great, more than great. During the winter months my eyes water as soon as they hit the cold, with that being said, I usually have to touch up my mascara by the time I get to wherever I want to go. Still, I thought this was just how it had to be. Clinique answered my wintery watery eyes prayers and introduced us to the Bottom Lash Mascara. The formula is brilliant; it coats each lash and separates them beautifully. The brush is tiny! Perfect for bottom lashes. I had no idea my lashes were so long! It doesn’t budge until I choose to remove it. It is best removed with a cotton pad that is soaked in warm water. Just hold the cotton pad against your lashes a few moments and *voila* the mascara slides off of your lashes in little tubes. No fuss and no mess. It is absolutely brilliant and I use it every single day! This has become one of my “Holy Grail” products and I will certainly be repurchasing it as soon as it runs out! And hey, for $12 it’s a steal!

Hard Candy Cosmetics
I was sent a few items from Hard Candy to try out and post my review on. I was sent an eye shadow, mascara, and lip gloss!
Eye Shadow:
Meteor-eyes Baked Eye Shadow
278
Outer Space
This shadow is black with swirls of silver in it. The colour payoff is incredible; you really get a lot of transfer from container, to brush, to eyelid. With some shadows you have to dip into the container several times to get a lot of payoff. Especially with blacks. Thankfully that is not the case here! One swipe and you get a lot! I also love that there is some silver in it. It really brightens up the black and makes it pop. You can also use these shadows wet or dry, that is a bonus!
Mascara:
1,000 Lashes Fiberized Lash Weave Mascara
Indigo Blue
This mascara is really cool. The fibres in the mascara really add to your lashes and build them up. I was concerned that they would irritate my eyes but surprisingly they didn't at all! The fibres lock in place and don't fall out or poke your eyes. The colour is probably my favourite part of this product. I have tried a lot of blue mascaras and they never seem to do much. They are usually pretty disappointing! I was shocked at how BLUE this mascara was. It really made my lashes stand out and it was vibrant all day long! I really like the brush too. It is quite dense and really grabs each lash. It is also really soft. There is nothing I hate more than a hard sloppy brush. The consistency of the mascara surprised me, it wasn’t really wet or goopy like some mascaras. Dry is the wrong word to describe it but imagine a cream eye shadow that dries to a powder finish, that is what this mascara is like. I am definitely going to get the black colour of this mascara for an everyday product.
Lip Gloss:
Mouthing Off Sheer Lip Shine

Gossip

Gossip
This is my FAVOURITE product of the bunch. The very first thing I noticed about this lip gloss was the scent. It is amazing, I wanted to eat it! It smells like cupcakes to me :) The colour is gorgeous; it is a pretty shimmery sheer pink. It is absolutely work appropriate and versatile enough to bring with you for a night out! I love that it isn’t sticky; so many lip glosses are sticky and dry out my lips. Even with my hair down it didn’t catch my hair! It also felt really nice on my lips and lasted a long time. I am really impressed! It made my lips feel buttery soft, I kept rubbing them together! It definitely transfers in a kiss but again it isn’t sticky, so it comes off easily. I highly recommend this product and if I had to pick one that I suggest you try it would definitely be the lip gloss!
I hope you enjoyed my review and if you have any questions please let me know!

Smashbox’s In Bloom Eye Shadow Palette and Cream Blush Duo
This palette is incredible! The shadows are so buttery soft; I could play with them all day. The immediate colour pay off is good but not great for some of the colours. A primer is suggested to help enhance the colours and keep them from creasing. The cost of this palette is $55 and at first I was a little put off by it, but then after seeing how much a single eye shadow would cost, I realized how much of a steal it really was! There is a great range of colours and the palette has the ability to create soft delicate looks as well as more evening appropriate looks. I highly recommend this if you can get your hands on it!
The cream blush duo is amazing, I love both colours. They also work wonderfully as lip colours. I prefer the lighter shade for my skin tone, but I love them both! I had only tried on other cream blush before (MUFE) and I liked it but found it a little tricky to work with, not the case here. This stuff is easy to apply and blends in fabulously. Pick it up if you are on the market for a new blush!
Xoxo,
Kayla
Colours from the top of my arm down to my hand represent the colours in the palette (top, bottom, top, bottom etc. L to R) hope that makes sense! |

Movie Review: Just Go With It
Hey everyone!
I saw this movie on opening night and I was pleasantly surprised! I wasn’t expecting too much, as many Adam Sandler movies are funny but not really mind-blowing. This was a very cute romantic comedy that kept my attention the whole time. I won’t get into details, as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but I absolutely loved the way it ended!!! This is definitely a date-appropriate movie as the man in your life won’t feel as if he is watching a “chick flick” there is a lot of comedy in it and it nicely balances out the romance :)
So, if you are looking for a funny and sweet movie to go see I highly recommend you go see this one!

Movie Reviews!
Hey everyone! I have seen quite a few movies in the last couple of weeks and I thought I would share my thoughts on them incase you are thinking about going to see them too!
No Strings Attached
- AMAZING! It was hilarious and very sweet without being overkill... it was a whole new kind of romantic comedy! I would definitely go see this one again :) I caution you on the language and content... If you are uncomfortable with sex, nudity, swearing etc. then this might not be the movie for you, but if you are okay with it all then you will love it.
The Rite
- So so... I hyped myself up to be TERRIFIED and it really wasn't that scary, so I was kind of disappointed. I definitely jumped a billion times and was startled lots, but it wasn't like I couldn't sleep that night or anything. So if you are hoping for a horror/so scared you check uder the bed and sleep with the closet door open and the light on kind of movie, then this is not for you. If you are looking for a jumpy/spill your popcorn and have a few laughs kind of movie, then this might be just right!
The Roommate
- Snooooooooooooooooooozefest! I was looking forward tot his movie for a while and I was so disappointed! Leighton Meester plays an awesome psycho, no denying that, but it was just too much all at once and not enough of a real story. I was left wondering WTF a lot... I really wanted to love it, but I cannot honestly say you should go see it right now, it might be more of a Blockbuster Movie Night at Home kinda deal!
Have you seen any good movies lately? Leave a comment below telling me about a good movie you have seen lately! :)

Women's Economic Opportunity Index Video
Hey everyone!
I was contacted by Alix from a group called JESS3 and she shared a video with me about the disparity of women's opportunity across the world, highlighting issues ranging from maternity leave to property rights. The Vaseline Challenge
Hey ladies!
I have heard so many people say that their lips have become plump and moisturized AND their lashes have grown so much by putting Vaseline on them before bed. So I am going to do the Vaseline Challenge and I will comment on this post with updates! I don't know if I am going to do it for one or two weeks, I guess if I see results I will just keep going with it! If it really works then it will become part of my nightly routine!
Do any of you do this?
xoxo,
Kayla
*UPDATE*: I felt I should do another little update about this stuff... I mentioned in the comments below that I don't like using it on my eyes anymore, just doesn't work for me, but I DO still use it on my eyebrows. I have no clue why but my eyebrows and the skin around it tend to be quite dry in the winter. I find a little bit of vaseline on them before bed really helps to keep that area soft. I wish I had better things to say about my vaseline challenge, but I really don't have much use for it. Aside from the brows and sometimes lips!
